Bird’s Eye View of Muharraq
Project type
Glass Fusion, each 30x30cm
Date
2025
Location
Bahrain
I created this work using glass fusion and slumping. It consists of four panels, each 30 by 30 cm, forming one complete composition that depicts the old neighborhoods of Muharraq from above. The overlapping shapes and shifting colors reflect rooftops, courtyards, and pathways — the rhythm and intimacy of a city shaped by memory and time.
Each panel connects to the next, just as every home and alley in Muharraq forms part of a larger whole. I wanted to capture not a map, but a feeling — how the city lives in our memory, how it breathes through light and form. The fused glass, melting and merging under heat, mirrors the way Muharraq has grown, where boundaries soften and layers of history intertwine. This work is my tribute to Muharraq — its spirit, its architecture, and the enduring beauty of belonging.
