Jamal AlYousif is a Bahraini sculptor working primarily with glass and stainless steel. With over three decades of artistic practice, his work explores the inner human condition—duality, fragility, strength, and transformation—through abstract and symbolic sculptural forms.

What themes inspire your sculptures?

My sculptures are inspired by themes such as psychological transformation, alienation, longing, memory, and the tension between strength and vulnerability. I use symbolic abstraction rather than literal representation, allowing each viewer to experience the work in a personal and reflective way.

Have your works been exhibited internationally?

Yes. My works have been exhibited regionally and internationally, including in the United States, and are held in private and institutional collections.

The Family

The Family is a permanent public sculpture commissioned by the New Bahrain International Airport and installed at the Arrivals Terminal, depicting a man, a pregnant woman, and their child in an abstract, symbolic form that serves as a welcoming gesture and reflects values of care, continuity, and responsibility deeply rooted in Bahraini society.

Kanoo Museum Pendant Light Sculpture

Site-specific suspended installation of hand-formed glass and patterned steel discs, transforming natural light into an atmospheric architectural feature.

Untitled (Stainless Steel Figures)

Abstract sculptural composition formed from sliced and welded stainless steel rings, creating perforated minimalist human figures with spatial depth.
